im than anything else in the world. He was passionate about sports and was devoted fan of the Boston Bruins, Red Sox and New England Patriots. You could find him at the golf course, the hockey rink cheering on his sons, Jack and Teddy, or at the soccer field supporting his daughter Katie. Scott loved to help whoever he came into contact with whether it was how to improve your golf or baseball swing or just needed advice on life. He was a movie buff, comedian (so he thought) and loved his four legged friends, Harry and caving into crazy Rocky. Scott truly was an extraordinary person filled with many traits. He will be greatly missed, and the memories cherished with him will last a lifetime. Scott is survived by his loving wife of 21 years, Danielle Merrill; his three children, Jack (19), Teddy (15), and Katie (15); two sisters, Lorna (the late Mark) Wentzell of Maine, and Marti (Mark) Sheckells of Indiana; mother-in-law, Carol Carr; father-in-law, David (Marsha) Carr; sister-in-law, Susan (Butch) Attig; sister-in-law, Julie (Scott) Knowlton; nieces and nephews, Mollie, Hunter, Abbie, Hanna, Chloe, Chase, and Lily. He was preceded in death by his parents, Barbara and Carl Merrill. There will be a private family service Saturday, October 2nd and will have a celebration of life service for family and friends at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make a donation to Fellowship of Christian Athletes or Young Life of Arizona (choose AF37 - Arizona Region). Checks can be mailed to the Regional Office at: 1130 E. Missouri Avenue #404, Phoenix, AZ 85014.
