Doris June Bell was born on March 16,1936 in Dallas, Texas to the union of Elzie Bell and Tessie Cola-Lorraine Friend-Brown. She was raised by her stepmother Esther Bell, and later reunited with her mother Tessie. Doris loved the Lord and lived for Christ. She was baptized at an early age at Bethel Baptist Church on 29th and Clay Street under the late Reverend Charles H. Hampton and remained a faithful and dedicated servant of Christ under Dr. John W. Ringgold. She attended Memorial Jr. High and graduated from San Diego High School. She was one of the original Caver Girls of 1954 with her best friend Barbara Wesson-Smith. In the Summer of 1954 Doris joined Claudell Beaner Sr. in matrimony, thier union produced five children. Doris's purpose was vast, she fulfilled it as her career ranged from retail clerk for F.W. Woolworth & Company, switchboard operator for Geico, National Steele and Shipbuilding Company and retiring from In Home Supportive Services, as a Certified Home Health Nurse for over twenty years, after obtaining her nursing degree in 1996 at Maric College of San Diego, at the age of 60. exposed her children to many field trips and other rich in history adventures. Doris loved music of all genres and encouraged her children to find their musical talent. An avid reader she spent some weekends just reading. Doris loved her family, laughter and loved food. Doris was preceded in death by her parents; Elzie Bell and Tessie Cola-Lorraine Brown-Friend, siblings; Verdell Bell and Carlee J. Daniels, twin nephews; Melvin and Delvin Daniels, and her precious infant son; Gregory Lavaughn Beaner. On February 9, 2023 God brought her home. Doris leaves to cherish her legacy her devoted daughters; Dorinda Elaine Beaner and April Bathsheba Morgan son-in-law; Kerry Neville Morgan, grandchildren; Kailan Neville Morgan, Marie Elaine Morgan, Ky Nicholas Morgan and Kelin Lee Morgan, great-grandchildren; Kassidii Kailene Morgan, Kaiden Braxton Mack Morgan, and Kailani Marie Mack Morgan, her granddoggies; Serjio and Sammzin, nieces and nephews; Canard Daniels, Bord Daniels, and Sandra Minyette Daniels-Conway, sister-in-law; Lorraine Beaner-Martin, lifelong friend; Mrs. Leila Sampson; and a host of family and friends who made her smile.
